Julius is a rooster, and, as such, he has the very important job of waking up the barnyard every day. When it starts to get cold, Julius moves his nest to the back of the coop away from the breeze that comes through the open door. The coop, however, is slanted down in back, so when he springs up to sound the morning cock-a-doodle-doo, he hits his head on the roof. Being of an anxious disposition, Julius starts to worry the sky is falling. He is aware he is prone to anxiety, and he knows that a good counselor can help someone like him. It can be difficult to find a counselor and counseling can be hard work, but Julius isn’t deterred. He is ultimately able to overcome his fears with the help of a wise person.

A colorful and quirky illustrated picture book focusing on mental health, Julius the Chicken Seeks Wise Counsel is sure to encourage children to be open to talk therapy and know they are not alone in their fears.
